In this video we will show you how to Upgrade and Activate your new Plugins.

Upgrading Your Plugins

  • Log into your WordPress Dashboard.
  • Click on “Plugins” in the Dashboard menu.
  • Under the “Manage Plugins” title, click on “Upgrade Available”.  This will bring up all the Plugins that have upgrades available.
  • On the line that says there is a new version of that Plugin available, click on the orange words “Upgrade Automatically”.
  • This will take you to a page where it shows you the plugin being upgraded.  DO NOT click on “Activate Plugin” at this time.  Click on “Return to Plugins Page”.

Activating Your Plugins

  • In the upper left corner of the Manage Plugins panel, check the box next to “Plugins” in the title bar.  This will select all the plugins you have installed.
  • You will want to deselect Akismet, cbnet Ping Optimizer and Hello Dolly.  (In the video I had already deleted Akismet and Hello Dolly so I only deselect cbnet Ping Optimizer.)  We will be using WP-Spam Free Plugin instead of Akismet and Hello Dolly is not necessary for these blogs.
  • Go up to the ‘Bulk Actions’ box just above and select “Activate”.
  • Click on the “Apply” button.
