How to Install WordPress via Your cPanel

  • Log into your cPanel.  (http://www.YourDomainName.com/cpanel) You should have been sent your login information you set up.  If you can not remember or find your information, call HostGator and they can help you reset your login.
  • Scroll to the bottom of your cPanel to the section called Software/Services.
  • Click on the smiley face to enter Fantastico.
  • On the left sidebar, click on “WordPress”.
  • Click on “New Installation”.
  • From the pull down menu, select the domain or sub-domain you would like to install WordPress on.
  • In the Admin Access Area, enter a Username and Password you will use to log into the DashBoard area of the blog you are creating.
  • Change the email address if you would like your site information sent to a different address than the one showing.
  • Change the site name to the Main Keyword Phrase you have chosen for this site (you can change this in the DashBoard if it is not selected here).
  • Click “Install Wordpress”.
  • Check the information of the screen that appears.  Change anything that is not correct at this time.
  • Click “Finish Installation”.
  • Fill in the email address where you would like your user name and password sent.
  • Go to your site to see that WordPress has been installed.
